Belt and Road Initiative

Context

The Belt and Road Initiative (BRI), also known as One Belt One Road (OBOR), is a global infrastructure development strategy adopted by the Chinese government. It focuses on enhancing connectivity and cooperation through the development of infrastructure projects like roads, railways, ports, and energy pipelines. The BRI is organized around six major economic corridors: the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor, the New Eurasian Land Bridge, the China-Mongolia-Russia Economic Corridor, the China-Central Asia-West Asia Economic Corridor, the China-Indochina Peninsula Economic Corridor, and the Bangladesh-China-India-Myanmar Economic Corridor.
