Integrating Western Paraguay with Northwest Argentina would allow access to the interconnections offered by the Pacific Ports, Paraguay-Paraná Waterway, and Atlantic Ports corridor via a paved road link between the cities of Tartagal (Argentina) and Mariscal Estigarribia (Paraguay). This corridor would facilitate the flow of products from Western Paraguay (timber, pulp, paper, soybeans, cotton, tobacco) westward to Pacific ports for the APEC markets and the US West Coast. Conversely, it would allow access for products from Northwest Argentina and those from Pacific ports to the Paraguayan market.
Description
Paving a 161 km stretch connecting National Route 86 between Tartagal and Tonono and Provincial Route 54 to Misión La Paz (Argentina) - Pozo Hondo (Paraguay). This project also completes the connection to the city of Mariscal Estigarribia (Paraguay) via Picada 500, with the paving of 220 km. It should be noted that in this way, in the Province of Salta, National Route 86 would link the towns of La Paz, Santa Victoria, and Santa María, before continuing along its current route through the town of Tonono, until it connects with National Route 34 in Tartagal.
