Objective

The primary objective of the Port of Lüderitz expansion is to establish a vital hub for exporting oil, gas, and green hydrogen, leveraging Namibia's natural resources to become a major energy exporter by significantly increasing the port's capacity to handle large volumes of cargo related to these industries, particularly focusing on the development of a deepwater section at Angra Point to accommodate larger vessels and new export terminals like green ammonia facilities;

Description

The first phase of the expansion will include constructing a 500-metre quay wall at a depth of 9 metres and reclaiming 14 hectares of land (The Namibian Ports Authority (NAMPORT)
