Future plans include extending the line further east to Menongue and south to the Namibian border, as well as potential integration with the Lobito Corridor.
Description
The project included the full refurbishment of the existing infrastructure, including the replacement of rails, sleepers, and bridges, as well as the construction of new stations and a new signaling and telecommunications system. The railway also received new locomotives. The Moçâmedes Railway, also known as CFM, has a 905-kilometer extension with 56 stations across Namibe, Huíla, and Cuando Cubango provinces.
