Objective

The main objective of Logistics Park Phoenix is to enhance freight transportation efficiency and support economic growth in the region. It aims to expand rail capacity, streamline the movement of goods, and create an integrated logistics hub that links rail and road networks. The project also seeks to reduce highway congestion and environmental impact by shifting freight from trucks to rail. Furthermore, it is intended to attract businesses, create jobs, and strengthen supply chain resilience, ensuring reliable distribution of goods for industries and communities across Arizona and the broader Southwest.

Description

Logistics Park Phoenix (LPP) is a large-scale freight and logistics development planned by BNSF Railway in northwest Maricopa County, Arizona. The project is designed as a state-of-the-art intermodal and logistics hub covering more than 4,300 acres, with an estimated investment of about $3.2 billion. It will include a rail-served intermodal terminal, logistics park, and distribution center facilities that support the transportation, storage, and movement of goods across the Phoenix metropolitan area and the wider Southwest region. The park connects directly to BNSF’s extensive rail network, improving supply chain efficiency and regional connectivity. It is expected to generate significant economic benefits, including tens of thousands of jobs, billions in labor income, and increased tax revenues. Additionally, the project aims to shift freight from road to rail, reducing congestion, fuel use, and emissions while supporting long-term economic growth in Arizona.
