Objective

The main objective of the Project is to remove a constraint to sustainable economic growth.

Description

The Project will entail constructing 167 km of single-track, standard gauge, Class I railway, reserved for electrification, between Dali and Lijiang, and expanding the capacity of the existing Guangtong-Dali line (Guangda line) to accommodate additional traffic.

History

During the time of the implementation, the project was excuted by West Yunnan Railway Company and Ministry of Railway in China. These entities were disoolved in 2013 as part of a major government restructuring plan.
