Concept The Walvis Bay-Ndola-Lubumbashi Development Corridor

trendLine

Description

A strategic trade route connecting the Port of Walvis Bay in Namibia to Ndola in Zambia's Copperbelt and Lubumbashi in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC). A tripartite agreement involving the DRC, Namibia, and Zambia was signed in March 2010 to operationalize the corridor, with Zambia recently ratifying it in January 2024. It aims to enhance regional integration by providing an alternative trade route for landlocked countries like Zambia and the DRC, linking them to international markets.
