Description
Two sub-corridors are included in CAREC 3. Designated Rail Corridor (DRC) 301 is a main rail route of connecting the Russian Federation, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan and Iran. It has a total distance of 4,100 km, with 29% electrified and 44% double-tracked. There are no missing links along this route. DRC 302 connects the Russian Federation, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Afghanistan and Iran. Out of the total length of 3,400 km, about 550 km of the Afghanistan section is yet to be constructed. This route is 38% electrified and double tracked.
