Objective

The project was designed to support the government’s infrastructure development focus on improving the national and provincial road network and road sector sustainability to provide better access to the country’s rural areas.

Description

The first section, approximately 50 kilometers long, is from Poipet, on the Cambodian border with Thailand, to Sisophon and forms part of National Road (NR) 5. The second section is from Sisophon to Siem Reap; this is approximately 100 kilometers long and is part of NR6, which extends further to Phnom Penh.
